The full story of the last members of the Imperial Family statues<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Walking through Vienna for the first time, it’s easy to notice how strong the presence of the most famous members of the Austrian Imperial Family is. At the same time, both, Franz Joseph<\/a> and Sissi<\/a> have no memorial … almost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Burggarten<\/a>, is a park right in the center of the city, now the place where the only public statue of Emperor Franz Joseph can be seen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is portrayed looking down, in a very simple way, wearing his military attire. In the base simply, “Franz Joseph<\/em><\/strong>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Burggarten is also home to the monument honoring Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, only a few meters away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sissi is no exception to this rule. Although she has a couple more statues depicting her, the only monument truly dedicated to her name is located in the Volksgarten<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Elizabeth memorial is an 18th-century white marble statue depicting Sissi seated with her arms folded, with a fountain in the base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below there is a fountain and flowers around the statue and in the base  a sole inscription :<\/p>\n\n\n\n
